Savannah's new bike

We bought Savannah her first real bike yesterday.  She has been asking for one for a little while now.  She sees all the other kids riding theirs and she wants to participate.  She picked out a Barbie one.  It has a basket so that her dog can ride along and a little mini bike on the handles so she can put her Barbie in it. She loves it. We let her try it for the first time this morning and well she has a little work to do but she will get it.  She kept saying it doesn't work (she kept pedaling backwards and the brakes would stop the bike).  When she goes does a slight hill on the sidewalks she thinks she is doing awesome because she picks up a little more speed.  It won't be long and she will be riding all over the place. Great job Savannah!

#2 Checked Off The Project List: Build Fire Pit

Jeremy started building the fire pit we have wanted to build for like the last five years.  It has become quite the job though. We already had our patio poured and so he had to cut out a strip of concrete so he was able to run the gas line.  Then he patched up the patio and did an overlay on the patio trying to make it look a little better.  He built the fire pit out of cinder block and rocked it.  We are going to use this all the time and are so excited that it is done.  Thanks Jeremy so much, it is awesome! Come on over for some good ol' smores!

This is Jeremy's drawing of the fire pit.
What a pain! (For Jeremy) This is Jeremy cutting the
concrete so that he could run the gas line.

His patch job after the gas line was finished.

Jeremy laying the rock.

Grouting the rock.

And hope that it lights!

Yay! It is finished! Well almost now we just have to
seal the rock and caps to protect it.

Miss. Personality

I just wanted to post some of Savannah's pictures I have snapped in the past few days. I have been busy trying to finish a huge project I started (it is huge to me because I have no idea what I'm doing) and so she has been playing outside while I work. I know there are times when I could almost strangle her (a little exaggerated) but I just love all her personality! I could seriously sit all day and just watch her play because she has such a fun imagination! And sometimes I do, Jeremy will come home and ask what I did and I tell him "Well I played with Savannah all day".
Yes, she goes head first down the slide!
Don't even ask. I guess going up the slide or ladder with feet was too easy.
This is how she climbed up the slide!
She was swinging on her belly yelling "ride'them cowboy, woo hoo" (from Toy Story)
She got this slip n slide for her birthday and loves it!
Savannah reaching really hard to pick the leaves off the tree.
She thought no one was looking but I now have evidence!
(She knows she is not supposed to do this)
Having fun in the sun!

SuGaR BuGs

Today Savannah and I went to the dentist to get our teeth cleaned and she cracked me up so bad.  She did so well, she was by herself getting her teeth done and I was on the other side of some cabinets that separated us getting my teeth cleaned. I could hear her but not see her. The dental assistants asked her to open her mouth so they could get the sugar bugs out. They cleaned them and then the dentist came in. He asked her how she was doing and she said "I have bugs in my mouth". The funny thing is she told everyone today that she had bugs in her mouth. The good news is neither of us had a cavity! I was very proud of myself.

Putting together a BOYS room!

I am so excited! I received my fabric that I ordered online for the baby's nursery.  I was a little nervous picking the different pieces of fabric online because you can only see so much and it is kind of hard to imagine them all together.  I love the fabrics and cannot wait to get started on the bedding.  My dear, kind, sweet sister is going to be helping me since I don't have a sewing machine and really don't know how to sew. (Jeremy said I can't buy on until I learn, but it is kind of hard to learn without one) I am going to take the fabric and get some paint samples today. I am thinking of putting chair rail up and keeping the color I have on the walls and then painting the bottom half an orange color. I sold my old furniture and I am purchasing furniture in an espresso color.  I ordered a new glider yesterday for the room.  Our last house was one level and we had rocking chairs in our living room but I really don't want to get up in the middle of the night and have to go downstairs.  I know call me lazy.  I am so excited to start but first I have to get the guest furniture out of the room and sell that.  I will post updated pictures as I am going.  I know most people that read my blog (which is like three people) don't care about what I am doing to the nursery but I like to put these things on here so I can look back and remember. Wish me luck!
This is the fabric I am using to make a car seat cover.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

Jeremy's lovely Father's Day breakfast

Jeremy wanted to take the camper out this weekend so we went down to where his brother Dave lives in Sterling. We had a blast and it was very relaxing just being in the camper and not worrying about anything going on at home or work. We went on a four wheeler ride Saturday morning and it was a lot of fun.  A little more bumpier than I was wanting in some parts but it was nice to be out in the open riding with family.  Then the guys decided to take a man ride.  "Up and over a mountain that should only take two or three hours".  Seven hours later they all came back looking like red lobsters!  None of them put on sunscreen because they didn't think they would be gone that long so now every one of them is suffering with a sunburn.  All I can do is laugh because I enjoyed my time taking a nice nap in the camper staying out of the sun.  But anyways since we were gone on Father's Day I packed stuff to make Jeremy breakfast.  Well this was the first time using the new stove. I started by putting the bacon in the oven. I set the timer for less time than it said to cook it and when I took it out of the oven everything in the middle of the pan was burnt.  I had to cut around all the burnt pieces in order to have bacon to put in the breakfast skillet I was making.  Then I thought ok I will set the biscuits for even less time.  I looked at them when the timer went off and thought yes I did it!  I took them off the pan and the bottoms were black as could be! And to make breakfast even better I forgot any kind of seasonings.  So I have a little practicing to do with that oven but hopefully I will get it.  We packed up and since we have lovely 1:30 church we were able to make it back in time to go and enjoy the talks on fathers.

I just wanted to let Jeremy know how much Savannah and I appreciate everything he does for us and let him know we love him very much! He is such a helpful Dad. We would not be able to make it without him! He is an awesome husband and father. Savannah already looks up to him so much.  She loves to always help him with any job he might be doing. Most of the time she gets in his way but being the good daddy he is, he lets her help and spends the extra time fixing what she did. She knows when he is not home he is off working hard for us and if he is not at work then he spends as much of his time with us and we love him for that. Thank you Jeremy so much for being a wonderful Dad!

This is the beautiful view from our four wheeler ride.
Savannah was pooped from the ride and slept for three hours!

If I ever ask Jeremy to smile for a picture this is what I get!
(He hates pictures)

I love her smile!

5 1/2 months!

Well I really hate this picture but I figured I am going to hate any picture of me while I am pregnant.  So I thought this is as good as any.  I have not taken any pregnancy pictures this time around so today before church I thought I better snap one.  I was 22 weeks along yesterday or if I get lucky 23 weeks! I feel like this time I am not prepared as far as knowing what kind of bedding or theme for a baby's room or for that matter a name for the baby.  I guess it will all come together one day I still have some time to figure all that out.  Right now I am just trying to keep a three year old calm and entertained (those two words probably shouldn't be in the same sentence).

ToY sToRy

Savannah loves watching the movie Toy Story 2. Since Toy Story 3 is coming out soon they have all the toys at the store to go along with it.  I am a softy when Savannah wants something and usually will get it for her (if she has been good or accomplished something).  So our collection of Toy Story toys keep growing and growing.  It is the cutest thing though she loves to play with them and of course when the movie is playing she is acting it out with her toys.  The other day she was jumping and galloping around the house screaming "we-haw, we-haw"; instead of ye-haw.  She also calls Bulls-eye Bull-tie.  It was so funny we were getting ready to go to the store the other day and she looked at me and said, "Let's roll".  I didn't know where she had heard it but she informed me that it was from Toy Story. I love Savannah for her huge imagination that she has! I can't wait to take her to the movie theater to see the new Toy Story.

1st thing off "to do list" with Savannah's help

Well we finally got around to sealing the swing set.  It was supposed to be done before last winter but we never got around to doing it so we are very excited that we can mark it off our list at least until next year.  I did everything I could reach on the bottom and then Jeremy did the entire top.  Of course Savannah had to help as soon as she saw him get the ladder out. Yes most parents would probably not let their children climb up to the top of the ladder but if only you could see how proud she is when she feels like she helped her Daddy.  Ever since she was a baby, anytime Jeremy would fix something or put something together she would be right there "helping".
