Happy Halloween!

Before Halloween we always paint or carve pumpkins. This year we were so busy that we only had the kids paint a pumpkin.  Savannah of course painted her master piece and Breckin stamped his foot in some paint with the help of mom, he actually slept through the whole thing. We also had a halloween party with some friends and family but since Breckin was only two weeks old I didn't really get any pictures except a picture of the cupcakes. I know, random.
Savannah as Jesse

We celebrated Halloween this year on Saturday since it was falling on Sunday. Savannah chose a couple months ago that she wanted to be Jesse from Toy Story and she wanted me to be a fairy so I made a costume the best I could with out spending tons of money on a fairy costume at the store. Breckin was Bones or a skeleton. Savannah said he was a monster. Jeremy of course wore his normal shirt. We went to our church Halloween party, it was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed seeing all the different costumes and some people I didn't even recognize in their costumes. It was a very rainy day so we were not sure if we were going to get to take Savannah trick or treating, so I went in the laundry room and I let her knock on the door over and over to trick or treat. She thought it pretty fun so it was worth it. Luckily after our hail storm it calmed down and the kids must have been sitting waiting by the windows watching for the rain to stop because it seemed like everyone came out all at the same time. I can't complain, even with the bad weather it was a fun Halloween. Hope everyone had safe and fun time also.

This is what mother nature decided to do right
when we were about to leave for trick or treating.

This was our inside trick or treating.

Savannah and all of her candy after she
really got to go trick or treating.

Funny moments from Savannah

So Savannah calls upstairs to me "Mom, come wash my hands".... I was a little scared to go see why she wanted her hands washed. I go down stairs and she says my finger is green. She was eating one of those lik a stick things but I guess when she ran out of stick she used her finger.  This is what she looked like. And yes this is after I tried washing her hands. I can't get it off!

Since we brought Breckin home from the hospital she has been exposed to some things that I would rather her not see but how do you keep a three year old away from her mom and her new brother. Savannah told me one day, "Mom, I won't eat you like baby brother does".

Jeremy asked Savannah "When is baby brother going to get teeth like you"? She responds, "At the dollar store".

Last week I was sitting in our family room which has a see through fire place that is connected with the front formal living room.  Savannah was in there playing with her dolls and she got really quiet so I looked through the fireplace to see what she was doing and I caught her nursing her teddy bear. I died laughing but wished that she had never seen me.

One week old

Today Breckin has been with us for a whole week. I know it is going to go by so fast, I am trying to appreciate every little thing he does (even if some of it is very painful). I feel like I stressed so much with Savannah that I didn't get to enjoy the newborn stage.  It does help that Breckin is an excellent sleeper. Breckin is such a sweet little baby.  We love just holding him and watching him sleep.  I love when he smiles in his sleep, even if it because he is working on a dirty diaper, I still love seeing it!  He had his first of many photo shoots today so here are a few of my favorites.

I also had Savannah take a few also.
We got some cute pictures especially
since she was not a happy camper!

Welcome Brother

Breckin made his grand entrance into this world on October 7, 2010 whether he wanted to or not.  I decided to be induced a couple days early and it was a good thing, at least that is what the doctors said. I also thought it was a good thing.... I didn't have to be pregnant for another couple days or more. I am pretty sure he was following his sister and wanted to be a late baby too. He was born at 1:44 pm and weighed 8 pounds 1 ounce and was 20 1/2 inches long.
The delivery went perfect.  I delivered at Orem Community and the staff there was beyond amazing.  My doctor did a great job of making sure our baby came out okay.  The last couple of doctor appointments I had my blood pressure started rising but not anything to be scared of yet.  After they started me at the hospital it quickly kept rising so they were really concerned and on the fence whether they should do something but they were just watching it closely.  When I was dilated to a five or six every time I had a contraction the babies heart rate would drop really bad.  So they were also getting a little nervous about that.  But during all of this I was informed about it but they were really good about not stressing me out. That is probably the last thing they wanted to do. The nurse checked me and I was at a seven and it seemed like right after she left the room I told Jeremy that I thought the baby was going to fall out.  He didn't believe me because I was just checked and was at a seven but wow I guess I move fast from that point because I was ready just a couple minutes later.  I think I pushed for maybe four or five minutes before we got to see our precious little baby boy.  After they cleaned him and I was ready the nurse told me it was a really good thing I came in when I did to be induced because the reason his heart rate was dropping so much is his umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck pretty bad.  What a blessing that was.  I am so thankful that I had a wonderful delivery and a healthy little boy.
Savannah came to the hospital to see her new little brother and she was all smiles.  She was so excited to finally meet who she had been talking to in my belly.  Brother had a couple of gifts waiting at the hospital for her to open and she thought that was just so great.  She went to the nursery and got to watch the nurse give him his first bath.  She will be an amazing big sister.
We are so blessed with awesome family, friends, neighbors and ward members who care about us. Thank you everyone.

General Conference & Picking Pumpkins

Today we were able to watch general conference as a family.  I think this was the first time (since having a child) that I actually heard almost every talk.  Savannah might not have listened but we had her sit there with different activities keeping quiet.  She did an amazing job, she got up a few times and went in the other room to play with a toy but she was entertaining herself which was very nice. I don't stress over getting her to sit still to listen to the speakers.  I explained before it started that we were staying home this weekend to watch church on the television.  When it started she told me, "this isn't our church".  I thought that it was a good thing that she knew it was not her normal Sunday meetings.

After the first session we got ready and I was doing Savannah's hair.  I had the curling iron in her hair when her head and body started falling back towards me. I said "Savannah what are you doing"?  In a split second I decided I better get the curling iron out of her hair.  She kinda laid back on me because I was sitting in a chair and her eyes started rolling back into her head.  I screamed for Jeremy in the next room because I was so scared and when I did that she woke up out of it and just started crying. We think she just passed out from being hot.  She had just taken a bath and then I was doing her hair.  It all proably lasted only about ten seconds but it scared me to death because I wasn't sure if she was about to have a seizure or what was happening.  I was sure I had not burned her but I thought I would ask her anyways.  She told me no that her head just broke.  This had never happened before but I will definitely be keeping an extra close watch on her.  Anyways, after that happened she still wanted to go and pick pumpkins so we did so.

We have a pumpkin patch basically across the road from us (not literally) so in between the sessions we went as a family and picked pumpkins.  We let Savannah pick two pumpkins out all by herself and then with a little guidance she picked out some more.  It was interesting watching her pick out which pumpkin she wanted.  It was not the prettiest but it was the one she wanted and she thought it was beautiful.  She also picked one out for brother.  Savannah has always had some fascination with pumpkins.  Each year I decorate the front porch with pumpkins and any chance she can get she will go out there and rearrange them or play with them like they are one of her dolls. (Remember she has quite the imagination) When people walk up to the porch they are probably thinking, why in the world did she put her pumpkins this way. Just remember that if you come to my house that it probably was Savannah's doing.  It makes her feel special when I leave them how she put them so I do just that because she is so special to us.
Savannah found her pumpkin and had her Dad cut it for her.

Seven more days until my due date, can you tell?
