FuN CrAfTs fOr ThE HoLiDaYs

Well I got a few craft projects done that have been on my list since forever ago. I knew if I didn't hurry and do them before the baby comes it would probably be next holiday season before I would get around to doing them. I am not that creative so they are all ideas I had found online awhile ago. They didn't turn out the best (probably due to the time of night I was doing them) but at least I can now say they are done! I love this time of year it is a fun time full of fun traditions and family get togethers. I look forward to Halloween this year. I am doing a party that will be tons of fun (at least I am hoping so). There is so much to do around this time of year with family and friends that you don't really get to do other times of the year so I am way excited and hope that I have a baby that sleeps well so I can still particiapte in all the fun events.  That sounds selfish but I mean it in the most unselfish way it can sound. Hope everyone has a safe and fun fall season!

I joked with Jeremy that now he has no excuse
for doing his Christmas shopping on Christmas Eve.

Imagination

"Imagination is the highest kite one can fly."
-Lauren Becall

"Imagination is more important than knowledge.
Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world."
-Albert Einstein

I am always amazed at Savannah's imagination! Who knows maybe every child has a great imagination, I only have one so I have no one to compare hers to. She is always finding something to play with. Whether it be two chip clips and she faces them to each other squeezing them open and closed, making them talk. Or like today she brought me her hello kitty slippers to help put them on her and she says, "Mom, I'm just going to play with them okay". She sits down on the ground pulls her legs into her chest and starts talking with her slippers. Some people may think it sounds strange but I love watching what she can come up with, she makes me laugh everyday. She does so many things each day but I never remember them by the time I sit down to write them in a journal or blog about them. I just love how imaginative kids can be!

Family Home Evening

The other day I was surfing the web looking for some new printouts for Savannah to do during church and I came across "ABC quiet cards", like the quiet books.  I found them on http://www.sugardoodle.net/.  I put them on cardstock paper and then laminated them. Each card has a different gospel topic.  As I was cutting them I thought this would be fun for FHE. Each week do a different letter in the alphabet and the topic that is on that card.  So as I was getting the "A" card ready, which the topic is Armor of God.  I was looking for something to do as the lesson I thought why not post them on my blog each week so if anyone needs a quick FHE lesson they can use this idea.  Each lesson is geared towards little kids and a short attention span, at least I try, some topics are a little more difficult than others.  This is what I did this week and Savannah loved it, she played with her armor for hours (which was just made out of paper plates). Hope this is helpful to someone. I know I love getting FHE lessons already put together.

Well I can't figure out how to upload my files of the lesson but if you want it I can email it to you. I will keep trying to attch the files somehow.
It was last minute so not the cutest but she loved it!

Savannah's photo shoot by Mom

So today I was able to bribe Savannah that if she took a few pictures for me I would take her to get an apple pie apple from Rocky Mtn. Chocolate Factory. I don't get very many pictures taken of her anymore because I can't get her to even look at the camera. It was much easier when she couldn't move! I don't have a nice camera (in fact it is taped shut to hold the batteries in) and I'm no professional but I like to take her out every now and then and try to get some cute shots. I think I succeeded today, it might be that I'm prejudice since she is my daughter and I always think she is cute but whatever. So here are a few shots I was able to get of Savannah. And yes we really enjoyed the carmel apple!

My wonderful awesome baby shower!

My sister's gave me a baby shower. The theme was "she's about to pop". We had lots of different gourmet popcorn (which was really yummy). There were only a few of us there but we still had a good time. Thanks everyone who came and thank you Samantha and Elizabeth for all the time you put into it. I loved it!
"She's about to pop" theme.

Me and my sister's.

Yay! A new park to play at!

The new park in Spanish fork opened up so we decided to go have a picnic lunch and play in the water! Savannah had a blast! The park had so much stuff for her to climb on and she loves to climb! It was a beautiful park and it is only like five miles away so that makes it nice too. She loves having a good time and I love sitting back and watching her enjoy herself. Little kids are so sweet when they are having a good time.

Where did the water go?
Uh oh, found it!

Our annual camping trip

This past Labor Day weekend was our annual camping trip that we take with family and friends.  It was also Jeremy's Birthday. We had a good time except the windy couple of days put a damper in the activities I had planned. Oh well, guess we will have to save them for next year. Savannah had a blast having her friends and cousins to play in the dirt with all weekend long. She also got to drive the four wheeler for the first time.  She is pretty good at steering but not stopping! (The chairs that are all knocked down in the picture were from the wind not Savannah). I hope everyone had a good time here are some of the pictures I was able to take.
Movie night
How many fish are in the jar?
The little kids guesses were pretty funny.
Savannah guessed two.
By the way there were 367.
Savannah loves to play with sticks.

Matt was pretty proud of his benches that he made.
The yummy french toast that Julie made. It hit the spot.
