Our "small" remodel

When we bought our house we knew eventually we would add a room upstairs. When you walk in our front door it went straight up and you could see into the loft area. This is one of the reasons why we liked this plan because we could get a little more space when we decided to. Of course the timing of the project landed in December right before Christmas so our house was a tad bit crazy. Anyways we could not be happier with the finished result. I want to thank everyone that helped us get this done. Jeremy, his brothers and one of Jeremy's friends did almost everything. They put a lot of work into the project and we couldn't have done it without them. We absolutely love it and it seems like it was built when the house was built. It is very cozy in our new loft. Here are a few pics of the addition and the mess:)

The start of the huge mess!

We added a floor or ceiling,
which ever way you look at it :)

Yes...we had child labor going on.

Putting the flooring down.

This is the new finished loft. Pictures aren't the best since I used my phone.
I have not really decorated the room yet. The old loft is now a bedroom.

The wall behind the entertainment center is the new
wall where the banister used to be and the old loft.

We had our family day at the dentist office today.  Savannah had no cavity's again so she got to keep her picture up on the "No Cavity" wall and she loves that she gets to pick out a toy and gets a new tooth brush.  She chose a pink fairy and an Ariel toothbrush. She watched Mickey Mouse while they looked for "sugar bugs".

Neighbor gifts

So I didn't really know what I was going to do for neighbor gifts this year. I knew I didn't want to do alot of baking since my house has been under construction but I didn't want to go and buy something for each neighbor because that could be expensive.  There is a wood shop in the same complex my husband works in and they had dumped all their scraps.  I decided I would spray paint them and but vinyl on them, wrap them in cellophane with some candy and include a Christmas story. Here is what I came up with. And thankfully I finished and delivered them all! Well I think.

Family Pics 2010

Well we took family pictures twice this year. Mostly because I didn't like them of myself but also I wanted indoor and outdoor photos. I know I'm crazy. Who wants to get their family ready twice? Let's just say I won't do that again. Anyways here are a few of the pictures. I can't wait until spring I think we will be retaking one, hopefully I will feel more comfortable about my body by then.  I couldn't get most of them to upload correctly so here are a few.

Breckin's Blessing

Breckin was blessed on November 21, 2010 by his dad. We had lots of family and friends come for the event. We went back to the house to have a luncheon and visit and I had put together a slide show of Breckin and showed that, I wish I could get it to upload on here but had no such luck. Thank you everyone that came, I know the weather was not the best to travel in. Here are a few pics that I managed to get.

Disney on Ice

We took Savannah to Disney on Ice. She had a lot of fun. We have a special parking place we park at every time we go to the Energy Solutions arena. It is a little bit of a walk but it is free oh and I forgot to mention it is a little scary but don't forget it is free. Anyways it was cold and I packed everyone a coat except myself so on our little walk to the arena we stopped at the Gateway and I got to get me a new Jazz sweatshirt. I promise I didn't forget my coat on purpose. Anyways we grabbed dinner at Jason's Deli and finished our little walk to the arena. We got there early so I walked Savannah around and she was yelling at the top of her lungs for Minnie and Mickey. When it was over she asked if she could watch it again, we had to explain that it was not like a movie.

Hoggle Zoo

My sister and I took the kids to the Hoggle Zoo. It was one of the last really nice weather days in October so we thought we better take advantage of it. They had a blast seeing all the animals. We took our lunch there and ate and then went on a train ride around the zoo. We rode the carousel and played on the playground. They could have stayed longer but it wore me out. Here are some pictures I took while at the zoo.
